Ordering FAQs
I'm new to online shopping, do Amode have alternate ways to purchase? We recognise that everyone has their own shopping preferences, which is why we allow our customers to choose from 4 easy ways to purchase their items:
1. Purchase online at www.amode.co.uk through our ordering server, we accept most major debit or credit cards (excluding AMEX)

4. Order by either fax to 0208 564 7500 or post to Amode Orders, 30 Phoenix Distribution Park, Phoenix Way, Heston, London TW5 9NB.
I want to send a gift, will the price show up on the package?
A receipt will be sent via email to the person who placed the initial order. The package will only contain a packing list, but no prices appear on this.
Do you offer a gift wrap service? Yes, we offer a gift wrap service for our accessories, which is charged at a fixed rate of £3.99. The optional charge will show up at the Checkout page. Your item will be wrapped with gorgeous wrapping paper that will delight your recipient. Due to the size, we do not offer gift wrap on our furniture items.
Furniture Questions
Is your furniture ready assembled? Most of our furniture is ready assembled, however there are some items which will require assembly. If an item does require assembly this will be mentioned on the product page and it will come supplied with assembly instructions. All relevant fittings and fixtures will be included with self assembly furniture and only require basic tools and basic assembly skills.
How do I care for my item? Different materials require different levels of care to ensure its longevity. Full care instructions on various materials can be found on our product care page.
Tax, VAT & Duty Questions
Is VAT included in the price shown?
VAT is included in all prices shown on our site. The VAT element is shown separately at checkout for your information.
I live outside of the UK, will I have to pay any duty/taxes? These rules vary by country and your local government determines duty and customs charges. The customer is responsible for any of these duties/taxes.
I live in the Channel Islands, will you refund the VAT? Please email us at info@amode.co.uk notifying us of the situation after you have placed an order. Upon notification we will refund the VAT to your credit card after your order has been placed.
Delivery Questions
Do I need to be at home to receive the delivery?
Someone needs to be at the delivery address to sign for your order. We are happy to deliver to your work address or to a neighbour, but please ensure that they are going to be in. We will not leave your order in a garage, porch, stairwell or under your recycling bin as it is likely to be stolen. Our couriers will contact you to arranged a fixed delivery date.
What countries do you deliver furniture to? Currently we can only deliver our heavy furniture items to the Mainland UK. However if you are located in Northern Ireland, any of the offshore Isles (i.e. Channel Isles, Shetland, etc) or within the European Union please contact us with the product code you are interested in purchasing and we can try and source a delivery quote to your location. Most flat packed and small furniture items can be delivered throughout the UK, both mainland and offshore.
