Extending Dining Tables

Friday, 18 February 2011

As more and more people are entertaining at home and home cooking becomes more popular there is an item of furniture that is essential to the ambience of the home that is required to share home cooked great meals – and that is a stylish contemporary dining table.  There are many styles of dining table but we are proud to announce three new additions that we think you will love.

The key to purchasing a new dining table is to consider how many people you want to seat.  A great idea is to consider an extending dining table – this way you can have intimate dinners and when required extend the table to enjoy meals with larger numbers of your friends and family.  Recommended is the Bollo Extending Plinth Dining Table – this table has been innovatively designed with a plinth base.  The design utilises all the space around the table so that guests do not have the unfortunate experience of seating obstructed by a table leg.  The Bollo design is space saving when not extended and can easily seat 6 people and when extended can seat up to 10 people comfortably.  If you are wishing to entertain more than 10 people The Big Bollo is an excellent choice. The Big Bollo has two extending leaves and you therefore have 3 sizes of table in one.  When fully extended the Big Bollo can comfortably seat 12 people and is perfect for a larger dinner party.  The Italians are renowned for enjoying excellent food and sharing with their family and friends so it is no surprise that the Bollo and Big Bollo extending tables are of Italian design.  Both tables are available in Walnut or Wenge finish with the Bollo also available in Matt White.  The design utilises a unique, easy to use mechanism to extend the table and will look lavish in any home dining setting.

For the ultimate dining experience, the Goliath Wood Extending dining table extends from 160cm to an incredible 310cm and when fully extended will seat 14 people comfortably.  The Goliath will help create a dining experience that larger groups will thoroughly enjoy – it comprises of 3 extension leaves so is suitable for smaller dinner parties too.  Again, the Goliath is designed by Italian designers and is available in walnut or wenge finish.

It is no longer necessary to go for an extending table, with cumbersome table legs and an uncomfortable experience for guests – these three extending dining tables are the definitive in modern, contemporary and comfortable dining.

The UK Furniture & Design Industry Market
Monday, 14 February 2011

There is a strong link between the furniture market and the housing market in the UK. In times of economic insecurity especially, this link can be clearly identified. As the housing market stagnates it would seem logical to presume that the furniture market would decline. There are signs that the furniture market has indeed declined up to 2010 but there is a confidence that this is not likely to continue as people begin to redesign their existing home rather than move to a new property.  Read more...
